The Primary Members of the Shade Family, the Primary Shades fit in the Most, and are primarily based off of Lifeblood.
A Shadeling emerges from the darkness…New to the colony, but a distant memory of a vessel. New and shy, these shades do not have a voice. However, The Grove is ready to accept them with open arms in time.
The Child of the Family, the Shadeling is often Quiet, shy, and Protected the most, as it lacks the ability to defend itself. The Shadeling is also the Smallest Shade of the Family, and Looks oddly cute. It is roughly two feet tall, and floats about half a foot above the ground. It has white eyes like most other shades, and black skin with slight hints of blue around it’s body, and specifically around it’s tendrils, which it has 7 of, each about a foot in length. Said tendrils are positioned around it’s body like a heptagon, each tendril where a corner of said shape would be, but positioned around the Bottom of the shade’s body. It has a single pair of horns that are in the middle of it’s head, about three inches away from each other, that bend towards each other and end up touching at the top. These horns are only about four inches long. It’s voice is shy and timid, and slightly echoey, like all other shades. It looks up to it’s greater siblings, for guidance, and does not yet understand the rules of it’s home.
Having been in the colony for a short amount of time…It understands the rules and how things work. Their limits and their possibilities. Upon reaching such a level, they are blessed by Shade with the power of Lifeblood. The Grove accepts them with open arms as they are now a verified member of The Regret Pile.
The Second Youngest of the family, the Attuned shade is not watched as closely as the Shadeling, and is much more talkative, and more Comfortable. The Attuned shade does understand that it has a higher being watching over it and the family, while the Shadeling does not. It is more attuned to the power of Lady Lifeblood than it’s Shadeling Sibling. It stands at about 2 foot ten, and has a black Body coloration with White eyes, and White Lines throughout it’s body and head, but not it’s tendrils. It’s horns are about 5 inches long, and look akin to the Pale King’s Horns, two on the top of it’s head, and two on the sides of it’s head, curving to point down. White Lines shoot through it, and around it’s neck it wears a blue ribbon, gifted to it by Lady Lifeblood. It’s tendrils are about 1 foot 6 inches long, and are shaped as a heptagon as well. It is pretty cute, not as adorable as the Shadeling but cute in it’s own way. It understands the Rules of it’s home more clearly than it’s Lesser Sibling, and understands it’s Place, as it’s Server Description says.
Allowing the Lifeblood into their system, they grow the Social Ladder of the Shades and are a fairly known member among the community. They participate in gatherings and enjoy the banter among other shades. Perhaps a sign that life for a Shade isn’t so bad after all…
Having Recently gone through the Lifeblood Ceremony, the Acclimated Shade Is more respected among the family, and has more opportunities open to it than it’s siblings below it, though it is still getting used to the Lifeblood, hence why it appears as more of a splatter pattern, instead of the Markings of the sibling above it. It stands at about three feet tall. It has a black that looks slightly blue for most of it’s body, with splatters of blue all across it, on it’s tendrils, torso, head, and horns. It has white eyes, like all of it’s Primary Shade Siblings. It’s Tendrils are more of a Skirt, with 10 tendrils composing it. Beneath this are a pair of very thin legs which it uses to move. The odd thing is, it’s slightly destabilized, and drips of void often fall off of it. This is because it isn’t entirely used to the Lifeblood. Over time, the Lifeblood and Void will mix, and the Acclimated Shade will become a High Shade.
Proud and respected, the High Shade takes pride in its deep Lifeblood markings that now shape around their tendrils. In such, they’ve spent plenty of time within the Grove in such many know them by name.
One of the more Respected Of the Family, the High Shade is primarily in charge of watching over it’s Lesser Siblings, and has a voice in the decisions that affect the siblings, unlike it’s lesser siblings. The Lifeblood is also more of a part of it, hence it’s markings.
These shades are greedy. Enjoying materialistic shiny things they found among the ruins of the dead kingdom above. Experienced and remembered, they’ve grown bored of the Abyss and have traveled beyond to find a meaning to life. Some, however, decide to stay in The Grove, and flaunt their golden gear. And by some, I mean most. So much jingling…
The More materially obsessed shade of the Family, the Royal Shade is always accompanied by a jingling sound, coming from the golden material they wear. Occasionally expresses an “I’m better than you personality”, much to the annoyance of it’s other siblings.
After being looked up at by lower Shades for so long…It seeks a past long forgotten. It accepts the Pureness of the White Palace and garners Pale Accessories among its body. Some call them “Daddy’s Bois” for acting so much like their father. But they ignore said insults.
Having accepted and Embraced their pale origins, Pale Shades are looked up to, by the lesser Shades below them, and wear Pale materials around their bodies to show their appreciation to the Pale King.
Unlocking their True Potential, their body is a symbol of Void Given Form. They’re powerful, rare, and respected members of the community. Shade herself looks up to their hard dedication of ascension. Almost as powerful as Gorb…
The Strongest Shade of the Bunch, the Ascended Shade looks down upon it’s lesser siblings with an almost parental love, watching over and caring for them. All lesser shades look up to the Ascended Shade for guidance. It acts as the commander of the Family, the one who makes the Final decision, after taking in the opinions of it’s Siblings. It is mostly considered the Brains of the family, due to it’s role of making the decisions.
